Roots & Sprouts
The Roots & Sprouts Festival sees itself as a place where bridges are built. Over a total of three days, various acts come together to pick up on different global music traditions and recombine them with musical trends from the recent past and present.
The Roots & Sprouts Festival sees itself as a place where bridges are built. Over a total of three days, various acts come together to take up different global music traditions and recombine them with musical trends from the recent past and present. This approach is also known as transtraditionalism.
There are no limits to the styles: Olicia combine elements of soul, folk and gospel with electronic soundscapes and loops. The quintet Jamila And The Other Heroes, on the other hand, has dedicated itself to a mixture of psychedelic rock music, funk and Arabic folklore, while singer Jamina Al-Yousef criticizes current affairs with highly political lyrics. The trio Faquelage, on the other hand, attempts to dispel prejudices and unceremoniously combines the easy consumerism of elevator music with (supposedly) cerebral jazz.
The festival will be rounded off with various workshops and DJ sets. And another bridge was also important to the organizing team: access to all events will be free - Wojtek Warmijak (dr), Tomir Śpiołek (p, synth), Ziemowit Klimek (db, synth) - VVK 12/15 €, AK 15/19€
