This year, jazz for children is taking place with two separate events.

Using improvisational approaches, the five-member Vienna Soundpainting Collective explores the overlapping of music and movement, drawing on the soundpainting sign language. The performance will be developed in a morning workshop with children and young people and then performed together at 2:30 pm. The participants will explore together how certain sound painting signs can be interpreted. If they wish, they can also integrate their own instruments or dance approaches into the performance. 

The "Jazz for Children" series has been an integral part of the Leipzig Jazz Days for many years and has long proven that "jazz" and "children" are not incompatible opposites: Because the series emphasizes that jazz is fun for everyone!
