Ritsche Koch not only has a very good name, he also plays the trumpet very well. At least that's what the people from the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra and the Beatsteaks say, as well as Peter Fox and Nils Frahm, with whom Ritsche usually plays when he's not part of the band with the also very good name Olaf Ton. No wonder, then, that the Berlin-based Austrian has only now released his first album of his own. It has - of course - a very good name. It's called "Forest." Staatsakt label boss Maurice Summen says about it: "Richard Koch is a psychedelic of the finest kind. With him, the big is always found in the small, and in the tiny little, in turn, the whole big. Melancholy and wit pass his quartet members to each other like a precious baton, while Mr. Koch always has a clear tone on his lips and an obviously great pleasure in merging and growing together with all elements in the forest of sound. It is logical that such a person also gathers an illustrious band around him: instead of Mr. Doldinger's ID card, he has collected the pianist (Michael Hornek) and from Mr. Andzrejewski, on the other hand, the double bass player (Andi Lang). In addition, he brings along Andi Haberl from the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra, known to a few as the drummer of The Notwist (and recently in the Telegraph already pleasantly noticed at Lea W. Frey's side, also because he was still fiddling around for ages after the concert).
