Apply for the "Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award"! (Deadline: April 22, 2026)
The year 2026 is full of anniversaries—and two of them could be of particular significance to you.
The Marion Ermer Foundation’s “ Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award ” is celebratingits 30th anniversary.
To mark this anniversary, the prize will be endowed with a one-time awardof 20,000 eurosand will be presented to two individuals or bands, each of whom will receive 10,000 euros in prize money.
In addition, the award will bepresentedby the City of Leipzig as part of the50th “ Leipziger Jazztage ” festival, taking place October 17–24, 2026—and, as always, the official awards ceremony will be followed by a concert featuring the award recipients or bands.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
The call for entries is open to individuals, bands, or ensembles. Applicants mustbe 30 years of age or younger (born on or after January 1, 1996)andreside in Leipzig or in the districts of Northern Saxony or Leipzig.
The City of Leipzig and the Marion Ermer Foundation value diversity and therefore welcome all applications—regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion or belief, disability, or sexual orientation and identity.
