Charlotte Greve (sax, cl, fl, comp) is considered one of the greatest talents of German jazz. Awarded the "Jazzbaltica Förderpreis 2010", debuting at the Jazzfest Berlin in 2011, she and her Lisbeth Quartet with Manuel Schmiedel (p), Marc Muellbauer (b) and Moritz Baumgärtner (dr) received the "Echo Jazz 2012" in the category Newcomer national.
Stylistically, the young band does not rebel and yet avoids treading well-trodden paths with astonishing maturity. Wonderful melodies are developed with emotional depth, but also the guard rails of harmonic structures are scratched with nasty chords. Dexterity is not demonstratively put in the foreground, but enables playful shrewdness in a sovereign way.
