STAX "suboptimal

Release concert of "suboptimal", the second album by [schtaks], the band of drummer Max Stadtfeld, and it is anything but that - rather "super-optimal".

With his new release "suboptimal" drummer Max Stadtfeld illustrates the phenomenon of compromise. The melodies flow like in an hourglass. Together piled up and torn down by Stadtfeld's sensitive playing on the drums, - unexcitedly excited in the finest accompaniment of a spectral bass, which moves between the timbres of the double bass and electric bass and together with guitar, saxophone and flute makes audible a band sound without alternatives. Compromise has rarely been played so strongly and convincingly! Where are we here? In jazz or yet with an ensemble that intuitively helps itself to the shelves of contemporary music? The quartet tastefully combines the elements of music that are important to them - "light-footed, compact and yet reproducible"! Surrendering to the supposedly raw, imperfect, suboptimal, something emerges that is perfect in its own way. Everything in one flow, without grand gesture. STAX manages to exceed the notorious expectations of the second album with ease. Everything super-optimal so; so as it should be, different.
