It's time again for the MusikZeit! Under the motto SILENT BASS the Jazzclub Leipzig e.V. presents on two days the bassist Manfred Bründl, who will be awarded with the SWR-Jazzpreis this year. Shortly before Bründl picks up the coveted jazz prize, which is endowed with 15,000 euros, he will present the range of his artistic work in Leipzig with two formations.

On October 29, he has invited the East German jazz legends Günter Baby Sommer (perc) and Conny Bauer (tb) to UT Connewitz. A long cherished wish of Bründl's comes true. He has prepared special compositions especially for this evening, which will serve as the basis for the solo/duo and trio improvisations.
On October 30, one day before Manfred Bründl and his quartet SILENT BASS will receive the coveted and highly endowed SWR Jazz Prize, the ensemble will make a stop at the Telegraph in Leipzig. In their luggage is the current and universally acclaimed CD "Tip Of The Tongue". Bründl dedicates himself here to a tribute to his instrumental colleague Peter Trunk, who died in 1973. The record was named best German jazz album by Deutschlandfunk as well as nominated for the German Jazz Award, "The whole sound atmosphere of the exciting sixties shimmers through every arrangement. And yet everything is placed in a sonorous musical context of its own, confirming the best tradition of jazz, namely that in which great musicians of the past inspire great musicians of the present."
