The Ukrainian singer's compositions blend influences from Slavic folk music, the aesthetics of great jazz singers, and harmonic and rhythmic concepts of contemporary jazz.
The Kateryna Kravchenko Quartet presents its debut EP "Stories". The Ukrainian singer's compositions blend influences from Slavic folk music, the aesthetics of great jazz singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan, and harmonic and rhythmic concepts of contemporary jazz. Kravchenko sings in Polish, Ukrainian and English. The young band, whose members come from four different countries and met through their joint studies at the Dresden Academy of Music, relies on intuitive interaction in their interplay. On "Stories" the different (musical) backgrounds of the band members come to the fore as well as the "common love for the jazz tradition". We look forward to this debut with great anticipation.
