Volker Dahms' music for saxophone and woodwinds has its premiere, performed by him, cellist Hui-Chun Lin and percussionist Peter Kuhnsch.
Dahms developed the idea for this piece in 2009/10 during a trip around the world in the seclusion of a former monastery in the Japanese Alps under the motto "Balance". For him this means: "Restless meditations in a Buddhist monastery. The shimmering heat of the southern states. The melody of a winter day. The silent ringing of a bell. In between: Moments of clarity. What remains is change."
