"Pélerinages" Weimar Art Festival
"(19.08. - 11.09.) - Young Philharmonic Orchestra Jerusalem-Weimar - Memorial Buchenwald - Works by Viktor Ullmann, Karl-Amadeus Hartmann, Johannes Brahms - Conductor: David Afkham
This year's art festival is dedicated to the 200th birthday of the important European musician Franz Liszt. The motto Vision ties in with Liszt's ideas for a "New Weimar", for new music and an "Olympics of the arts" in the sleepy classical town.
Seven European composers bow to Liszt, the musician of the future, with their Liszt visions. The visual arts also embark on visionary paths with the exhibition "Vision. The Vision". Young choreographers and media artists transport visionary movements."
