For decades he has been one of the most respected guitarists - both on the acoustic instrument and with the electrically transformed string tones. Al Di Meola is at home in Latin, jazz and rock. The live LP "Friday Night in San Fransisco", released together with John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucia in 1981, is one of the best-selling acoustic guitar albums. Further stations of the US-American are the fusion jazz group "Return to Forever" with Chick Corea and his manifold collaborations with the greats like Herbie Hancock, Frank Zappa, Jan Hammer and Jaco Pastorius.
Since 1991, the restless perfectionist has been immersing himself in jazzy world folklore with "World Sinfonia" in an ever-renewed lineup. On the 2012 edition "New World Sinfonia" guitarist Kevin Seddiki, Fausto Beccalossi on accordion and percussionist Peter Kaszas are at his side.
