“You don’t know me, but you’ve heard a lot about me,” Werner Richard Heymann used to say. In fact, the German-Jewish composer is hardly remembered today—in stark contrast to his unforgettable songs such as “Ein Freund, ein guter Freund” or “Irgendwo auf der Welt.” The ensemble featuring singer Fernanda von Sachsen and pianist Marina Schlagintweit, with Lorenz Heigenhuber on bass and Tilman Albrecht on drums, commemorates Heymann’s eventful life with brilliant arrangements and humorous anecdotes (Sponsored by the City of Leipzig).
