Jazzclub Live: Ketil Bjørnstad "The world that was mine" - book premiere with music
Many people know that there are two Avishai Cohens, one plays bass, the other trumpet. There are also two Ketil Bjørnstads, one plays the piano beautifully, the other writes wonderful novels about Europe, Mozart and Munch, for example. But unlike the two Cohens, the two Bjørnstads are one and the same person. And we are finally proving it: on the occasion of his new novel, Ketil Bjørnstad, this great man, who radiates such calm and modest above-it-all stance, as only the great ones can, who no longer have to prove anything to anyone, is coming to the Telegraph. He will play the piano at the beginning and end of the evening, in between Uli Steinmetzger (jazz expert and Bjørnstad editor) will ask him a few ingenious questions, and of course he will read, not all 834 pages, but some. What a nice cooperation between Osburg Verlag, Connewitzer Verlagsbuchhandlung and us, the Jazzclub Leipzig! And the very best: "The world that was mine. The Sixties" is just the beginning. Bjørnstad dedicates a novel to each decade of his life. In Norway, the first three have already been published, and all are bestsellers. So let's get to know the young Ketil, between the Cold War, the moon landing and the Beatles - and look forward to seeing him again!
