Max Löbner receives the Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award from the Marion Ermer Foundation

Congratulations! Max Löbner is the winner of this year's Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award from the Marion Ermer Foundation. The prize, which is awarded by the foundation with the support of the City of Leipzig, will be presented on October 20, 2024 as part of the 48th Leipzig Jazz Days at naTo.
After the award ceremony on October 20, 2024, Max Löbner will perform with his band KLSD in an award-winning concert as part of the 48th Leipziger Jazztage at naTo. And we are really looking forward to it!
The jury, consisting of bassist Lisa Wulff, harpist Kathrin Pechlof and music journalist Ulf Drechsel, awarded Max Löbner the prize not only because of his exceptionally mature artistic personality:
"Jazz, rock, pop, electronics, spoken word - he masters all facets of contemporary music and has developed his own recognizable artistic signature for its sonic design. Max Löbner's extraordinary talent deserves the highest recognition and also deserves attention and further support beyond the Leipzig Jazz Newcomer Award."
Max Löbner (born 1999) has lived and worked in Leipzig since 2021. He grew up in a musical environment in Trossingen, studied electric guitar in Weimar and Lucerne and is currently studying at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. With his band "Max Löbners KLSD" (Leipzig, Cologne, Mainz), he crosses many genre boundaries between jazz, jazz-related music and improvised music. In 2022, the band won the "recording project" of 2ndFloor e.V. in a competition organized by Loft Köln. In 2024, "Max Löbners KLSD" also won the Central German Jazz Prize.
