The band around the Leipzig trombonist Georg Demel presents the music of their debut album.

Together with tenor saxophonist Christopher Kunz, Stephan Deller on double bass and drummer Tom Friedrich, Leipzig trombonist Georg Demel founded his eponymous quartet in the summer of 2018. Demel began studying jazz trombone at HMT Leipzig in 2015 with Johannes Lauer and Prof. Johannes Enders and also studied at HSLU Lucerne with Nils Wogram as part of an Erasmus residency. His debut album "Pale Blue Dot" will be released in the fall of 2021 and at the sociocultural center die naTo, the band will play one of their release concerts. "When you let yourself be captivated by the music of the Georg Demel Quartet, you feel transported to a scene from Blade Runner 3 that hasn't been filmed yet. The compositions are consistently limited to a few pastel colors throughout, which in the end make you feel like you haven't been oversaturated by the sounds this band creates, which is rarely the case these days. All that's missing is a bag of popcorn and everything is perfect," says Johannes Enders about the music of his former student. In any case, we are curious - and probably it will be perfect even without popcorn.
