LET'S TALK ABOUT JAZZ...
The magical smell, the lush green, its stateliness, all children love it and the whole family gathers around it - it is the absolute highlight of every Christmas: Brussels sprouts. As usual, the absolute concert highlights in December 2015 are only available here, at Jazzkalender, the Brussels sprout among event magazines.
The beginning of the month already has a lot to offer: Evgeny Ring, the saxophonist and 2015 Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award winner, is coming to the Telegraph with the alternative jazz quartet Bazga from Cologne, followed the next day by Maike Lindemann with Matthias Kurth and her jazz-pop debut album "big sky. little bird". And because we think Maike's voice is so great, we've invited her back a second time: together with pianist Flo Kästner, bassist Pepe Berns and the program "Celebrating Billie Holiday" - in our classic series Flashback, this time at the Saal der Neuen Musik Leipzig. With the Jazzkollektiv Leipzig, we present the brand new project Körper by guitarist and composer Moritz Sembritzki at the Telegraph. And just before the festival: Wespennest! The international, ten-piece band around Wogram and Partyka student Moritz Wesp. Plus a breeze of HMT Christmas celebrations, the annual Euphorium Festival, a double concert by Spielvereinigung, Das Kapital as well as Kraftwerk and The Notwist. No presents this year, all the money went on concert tickets...
Whereby! That can be combined quite formidably: Presents and tickets! In early 2016, for example, Nils Wogram's Root 70 with their new album, the newborn Egolaut band, the always newborn Reihe2 with Michael Wollny & Ronny Graupe and The Profs (Schrabbe, Wollny, Neumann, Berns & Köbberling) as well as Erika Stucky with her highly acclaimed new Jimi Hendrix quartet will be playing here. Everything is already on sale at Culton (culton.de, 0341 14 16 18, Peterssteinweg 9) and directly recommended by Santa Claus! And a voucher for the 40th Leipziger Jazztage (Sept. 29 - Oct. 8, 2016) is of course already available.
Hohohoho!
