Jazz Calendar Jazz Calendar #258 December 2015

LET'S TALK ABOUT JAZZ...
The magical smell, the lush green, its stateliness, all children love it and the whole family gathers around it - it is the absolute highlight of every Christmas: the Brussels sprout. The absolute concert highlights in December 2015, on the other hand, can only be found here, as usual, in the jazz calendar, the Brussels sprouts among the event magazines.
Already the beginning of the month has a lot to offer: Evgeny Ring, the saxophonist and Leipzig Jazz Young Talent Award winner 2015, comes to the Telegraph with the alternative jazz quartet Bazga from Cologne, Maike Lindemann the next day with Matthias Kurth and her jazz-pop debut album "big sky. little bird". And because we think Maike's voice is so great, we invited her a second time: together with pianist Flo Kästner, bassist Pepe Berns and the program "Celebrating Billie Holiday" - in our classics series Flashback, this time in the hall of Neue Musik Leipzig. With the Jazzkollektiv Leipzig, we present the brand-new project Körper by guitarist and composer Moritz Sembritzki at the Telegraph. And just before the festival: Wasps' Nest! The international ten-piece band around the Wogram-und-Partyka student Moritz Wesp. Plus a breeze of HMT Christmas party, the annual Euphorium festival, a double concert by the Spielvereinigung, Das Kapital as well as Kraftwerk and The Notwist. Gifts are out this year, all the money went for concert tickets....
Whereby! That can be combined quite formidably: Gifts and tickets! At the beginning of 2016, for example, Nils Wogram's Root 70 with new album, the newborn Egolaut band, the always newborn Reihe2 with Michael Wollny & Ronny Graupe and The Profs (Schrabbe, Wollny, Neumann, Berns & Köbberling) as well as Erika Stucky with her highly acclaimed new Jimi Hendrix quartet will play with us. Everything already at Culton in advance (culton.de, 0341 14 16 18, Peterssteinweg 9) and directly recommended by Santa Claus! And also a voucher for the 40th Leipziger Jazztage (29 Sep. - 8 Oct. 2016) is of course already available.
Hohoho!
