UT Connewitz

Cinema preserved since 1912, whose morbid atmosphere enchanted everyone so far

© Susann Jehnichen

The "Union-Theater Connewitz" is the oldest surviving cinema in Leipzig and was first lit in 1912. In 2001, the "UT Connewitz e.V." took on the preservation of the old structure and since then has organized a wide variety of music, film and theater events in an unmistakable ambience.

During the Leipzig Jazz Days, Supersilent feat. Stian Westerhus, Hidden Orchestra, Jaki Liebezeit, Burnt Friedman, Eivind Aarset, Jakob Bro Trio, Empirical and others have already played here.
