Home venue of our year-round concert series in the city center

Since 2010, the basement of Café Telegraph in downtown Leipzig—located in the immediate vicinity of the “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” University of Music and Theater, the market square, and the “ Thomaskirche ”—has served as the main venue for “Jazzclub Live.” The program there was awarded the Federal Government’s Rock, Pop, and Jazz Venue Program Award in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2018 (the only venue in Leipzig to have received it twice). In addition to big names like The Bad Plus, Aaron Goldberg, and Michael Wollny, young bands made up of students from the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theater perform here every Tuesday at “HMT Stage Night.”

During the Jazztage, the Telegraph has already hosted Das Kapital, Hyperactive Kid, Joe Sache and Heiner Reinhardt. In recent years, the cozy cellar has served as the closing venue, where we celebrated the finale of the Jazztage with the Tobias Hoffman Trio and Christian Kögel's "Queen Jazz", among others. This year we want to dance and close this evening with the young Cologne band SALOMEA.
