The British saxophonist is a guest in Leipzig for the first time.

At least since her release of "SOURCE" last year, 30-year-old saxophonist Nubya Garcia has been considered one of Britain's most important emerging jazz composers and musicians, "tapping into the past to make jazz for a new generation," according to Marcus J. Moore in an interview with the artist in the New York Times. Her distinctive sound caresses us like a light breeze reviving the memory of a balmy summer evening, making our bodies sway to the beat. At the same moment, the Londoner picks us up with technically advanced strong and at the same time romantic tones. In addition to performances at the London Jazz Festival 2017 or the Jazzfest Berlin 2018, the musician also played at the Glastonbury Festival this year and is currently touring worldwide from Stockholm to Paris to New York.
