Sculptor, photographer, draughtsman and performance artist: Loonie Holley is all of these - and much more. In 2012, he released his solo debut "Just Before Music" - at the time he was 62 years old. Since then, five more albums have followed, most recently the critically acclaimed "Tonky" in March.

The US-American's music goes far beyond what is usually understood by jazz: he touches on the anarchy of free jazz and combines it with the vitality of soul and the performativity of pop. In doing so, the LoFi artist avoids any suspicion of academic lifelessness and lovelessness. Because at the heart of his work is not flawlessness, but its opposite: flaws, pain and fractures can be heard in every note of his music, because only they can convey credible stories of life to us.

On the upcoming tour, he will share the stage with his compatriot Moor Mother: the musician combines poetry with activist rage in her work. The result is an elusive, eclectic sound monolith made up of set pieces from punk, electronics and hip-hop.
