Michael Wollny Trio

Following his acclaimed performance with his colleague, friend, and musical role model Joachim Kühn as part of the 2024 " Leipziger Jazztage ," Michael Wollny is now—just under half a year later—returning to the stage in his adopted hometown with his trio.

With "Living Ghosts", he has a brand new album in his luggage, which once again underlines the exceptional status of the jazz pianist, which he enjoys both nationally and internationally. It was recorded last year during a concert in Illingen, Saarland. The four pieces on the album bear witness to Wollny's inimitable ability to combine sometimes fundamentally different musical themes and compositions with his two fellow musicians Tim Lefebvre on bass and Eric Schäfer on drums in such a way that they merge seamlessly. 

And it doesn't matter whether he plays motifs by Duke Elington, Alban Berg, Nick Cave or his own compositions: In the end, each piece becomes an unmistakable reflection of the Michael Wollny Trio.
