Xenophobia Quartet
Fear of strangers is never a good advisor! The name of the group, which was founded in 2015, is to be understood as programmatic in two senses. On the one hand, in response to the increasing irrational fear of foreigners in society, its members see themselves as a "transcontinental improvisation alliance" between Europe and the United States that wants to emphasize the unifying aspects of music in a special way. At the same time, they show what enriching listening experiences the unbiased interweaving of composed contemporary music and jazzy improvisations can lead to. The result is a top-class formation with musicians who are all internationally active.
