The Notwist
TIP
The two most important German pop bands ever come to Leipzig with three concerts each in December! First of all, there is the Düsseldorf-based Gesamtkunstwerk Kraftwerk: Since 1970, the musicians with the calculator in their hands have been thematizing the relationship between man and machine - with electronic sounds and synthetic voices, automatic and machine rhythms, as well as thoroughly designed robot appearances.
One week later, The Notwist comes to UT Connewitz. The band, founded in Weilheim in 1989, is also considered a living legend, at the latest since the epochal album "Neon Golden" from 2002. Electronics, minimalism and jazz elements form the cornerstones of a sound universe that on record overlays and interweaves what feels like hundreds of tracks, and in concert develops an energy that reveals the band's metal and noise origins.
The Notwist will also play on Dec. 16 and 17.
