THE DARK SIDE OF AUGSTEN / BREITENBACH
SEVEN MEDITATIONS ON DEATH
In this LeipJAZZig concert on the weekend of the Wave-Gotik-Treffen, the duo Augsten / Breitenbach will deal in seven improvised movements with the inevitable and at the same time the only just thing for all of us - death. This, our, omnipresent and especially in today's time often suppressed companion shall be the focus of this evening. However, this concert will not be an event of mourning - on the contrary: Especially in these times of ever more rampant mammonism, life is to be praised as the only tangible thing, far away from any religion, in cheerfulness and contemplation.
Leipzig's grooviest cellist Christoph Schenker and percussionist Kay Kalytta from Weimar, who is bursting with sounds, have been invited as guest musicians. The performance will also be enriched by film clips of various kinds.
Michael Breitenbach (soprano saxophone, electronics, concept, projection), Tilo Augsten (piano), Christoph Schenker - (cello), Kay Kalytta (perc)
