Spielvereinigung Sued feat. Reinhold Schmölzer
The Spielvereinigung Sued just can't let it go - no sooner has one great project been completed than the next coup is on the horizon. Just recently, they brought the world premiere of John Hollenbeck's composition "Inseparable.Indivisible." together with the MDR Radio Choir on the stage of the Opera House, and now they are bringing Reinhold Schmölzer, one of the most important protagonists of the young Austrian jazz scene, to Leipzig. Born in 1983, the drummer, composer and arranger has already been awarded a number of prizes. Among them the "DOWNBEAT Student Music Award" for his arrangement of the Radiohead song "Lotus Flower". Schmölzer's colorful compositions are bursting with movement and energy. Always forward-looking and in search of new, zeitgeist-shaping sound forms, Schmölzer's works invite reflection even after the last note has faded away.
