Ralf Schrabbe Project: Classic meets Jazz
The HMT professor has created music that is well worth hearing, far removed from the usual clichés of classical music and jazz. A top-class jazz ensemble with Johannes Enders, Werner Neumann, Matthias Eichhorn and Heinrich Köbberling creates a finely tuned balance of improvisation and composition in combination with a classical string quartet. Imaginative and subtle, Schrabbe internalizes the rich history of music from Baroque to Classical Modern for his compositions and sophisticated arrangements. In keeping with the season, summer music from Vivaldi's Four Seasons will be heard. And a twelve-tone composition on the tones B-A-C-H is dedicated to Leipzig's first jazz composer J.S.B. In addition to this concert, the summer stage at the Panometer also offers pop and classical concerts as well as poetry slam and theater performances from June 29 to July 8.
