Marc Copland & Daniel Schläppi
TIP
Marc Copland is considered one of the most exciting jazz pianists, a "fixed star of intelligence and passion". He was a companion of James Moody, John Scofield, Art Farmer, Michael and Randy Brecker, among others. Especially his chamber music formations with John Abercrombie, Gary Peacock and Drew Gress he leads with creative internalization to an expression reduced to the essential.
Copland's New York encounter with Swiss double bassist Daniel Schläppi proved immediately: both are on the same wavelength. Their highly acclaimed recording "Essentials" (2012), carried not least by the singing bluesy woofer in the center of gravity, documents their intuitive understanding. Now they have their second joint album "More Essentials" in the tour luggage
