LeipJAZZig Orchestra
Jazz calendar tip
The Initiative Leipziger Jazzmusiker enters its third LeipJAZZig decade with its representation of Leipzig's diverse jazz scene.
Back at the Schille Theater, the five festival days begin in a big way with the LeipJAZZig Orkester, which plays Yellowjacketsiges and more from the pen of Stephan König. Reibach3000 is on the paths of tribal tech and avant hip hop. Michael Breitenbach brings together freely improvising musicians of all generations in the Jazzwerkstatt Leipzig. Tabla, didgeridoo and saxophone explore the jazz-rock field in tabla-coop togetherness. Reinhardt/Roder/Kellers float into the free jazz future. Ines Agnes Krautwurst and the Lora Kostina Trio ride through the song cosmos of Burt Bacharach with female power. Sebastian Weber performs in the program "rhythmic encounters" with tap dance, body percussion and weird vocals, supported by the royal trio as a festival finale and at the same time opening of the new jazz series "Jazz am Montag" around multi-musician Stephan König in the Haus der Musikalischen Komödie.
Festival opener with: Stephan König (lead, p, comp, arr), Thomas Prokein (v), Christoph Schenker (vc), Frank Bartsch (tp, flh), Gundolf Nandico (hrn), Falk Loose (tub), Frank Nowicky (as, ts, fl), Michael Arnold (ts, as, ss), Michael Breitenbach (as, ss), Frank Kaiser (g), Henning Plankl (as, bars, cl, bcl), Wolfram Dix (vib, perc), Stephan Weiser (b) and Wieland Götze (dr) - 21.
