Altın Gün
If you like, the social media have "once again" helped quite a bit. An appeal via Facebook in 2017 was decisive for Altın Gün. Because that's how the Dutch-born musicians Jasper Verhulst, Ben Rider and Nic Mauskovic were able to hire the Turkish-speaking Merve Daşdemir and Erdinç Ecevit Yildiz. Add percussionist Gino Groenveld to the mix and the band was complete. Starting from Verhulst's unconditional love for Turkish folk of the 60s, the six band members created a new kind of sound on their debut "On". The mostly covered old turkish standards are taken to another level with warm synths, dense guitar rhythms and a special post psychedelic funk. And shine sometimes in a futuristic-electronic shimmer, to then again by the saz guitar and the voices of both vocalists in traditional sound. By the way, the name of the band means "Golden Day". If you are hungry for such a day again, you should not miss this concert.
