Opening concert of the International Jazz Festival for Children and Young People (1.-4.3.) - Fanfares Niamiga (conductor: Ernest L. Kalinowski), Symphonic Wind Orchestra of the Music School Leipzig "Johann Sebastian Bach" (conductor: Wilfried Thoß)
For the ninth time, Reiko Brockelt and his small team are inviting people to Leipzig for the International Jazz Festival for Children and Young People - something that can certainly be praised, especially since the festival faces no small financial difficulties every year. At Kidsjazz, "for children and young people" traditionally means that the youngest among jazz enthusiasts are not only in front of the stage, but above all on it. In various workshops, the little and not-so-little (i.e., already pretty cool) guests from numerous countries develop their own concert program, which will be heard at the festival's conclusion on March 4 in the MDR rehearsal hall. By the way, this year's Kidsjazz kick-off will take place at the Paulinum - on March 1, the Fanfares Niamiga from Belarus under the direction of Ernest L. Kalinowski and the Symphonic Wind Orchestra of the Leipzig Music School "Johann Sebastian Bach" under the direction of Wilfried Thoß will perform there.
