Once again the festival LeipJAZZig of the Initiative Leipziger Jazzmusiker e.V will start König-lich! The ecstatic sounds of the LeipJAZZig Orchestra, tuned by Stephan König to the jazzy arrangements of music by Claudio Monteverdi and others, will meet the silver-sounding voices of the vocal sextet Sjaella at the UT Connewitz. Starting on the second day, the festival moves to the Schille Theater, which has served as the initiative's resident club since 2016. All three weekend evenings are graced by a double concert. Rolf von Nordenskjöld and Athina Kontou will kick things off. The flutist and the double bassist set their instruments in a virtuosic dialogue. At the end on Sunday Ralf Schrabbe together with a top-class ensemble with adventurous sound explorations, sets a point, under a very worth hearing festival. (14.-17.3.)
