jazzahead! 20 YEARS

Trade fair, festival, “family reunion of jazz”: Among the many jazz events in Germany, one has stood out in a special way since 2006: jazzahead!

Year after year, musicians, labels, agencies, and media representatives gather in the Hanseatic city to exchange ideas and network. This year’s partner country is Sweden, which is represented by numerous acts such as the Joel Lyssarides Trio, Agnas Bros., and Hederosgruppen. Also on the lineup are top-tier acts such as Peter Somuah, Sorvina, the Sydney Mavundla Quartet, and the Leipzig-based group Crutches, led by guitarist Jan Frisch.

On Saturday evening, visitors can also look forward to a special highlight: to mark the 20th anniversary of jazzahead!, the German Jazz Prize is returning to Bremen. Three acts from Leipzig are also nominated—Gellért Szabó’s Ideal Orchestra, Olga Reznichenko, and Robert Lucaciu—as is singer Zuza Jasinska, who will be performing with her duo Gołos x Jasinka in ourJazzclub this April. The German Jazz Prize will be opened by the Moses Yoofee Trio.
