A mind game: Miles Davis decides to hang up his trumpet in the mid-seventies and sign on as the new guitarist for Black Sabbath instead. What would that have sounded like? The sound of the Hedvig Mollestad Trio gives an idea of this, somewhere between the energetic power of the heavy metal epigones from Birmingham and the anarchic virtuosity of the jazz trumpeter.

Sounds wild? It is. For years, every new album by the band has presented music critics with the challenge of finding an adequate term. Whether heavy jazz, stonerswing or rock: all these terms illustrate that in the case of the exceptional Norwegian guitarist, we are dealing with a phenomenon that has never been heard before in this form - which is also underlined by the recently released, critically acclaimed album "Bees In The Bonnet". And so you can already look forward to seeing snapping metalheads and headbanging jazz nerds side by side at the UT Connewitz.
