Lina Allemano's OHRENSCHMAUS

The Berlin-based "power trio" impresses with virtuosity and originality in equal measure. The compositions are penned by band leader Lina Allemano, who, together with her two colleagues, elicits new and exciting impulses from jazz. Together they create a sound at the height of its time, which is highly expressive, sometimes humorous and melodic at the same time.

The musical approach used by the trio is nothing entirely new: a trumpet in combination with drums and bass is, after all, as old as the genre itself, which Allemano is working on together with the Norwegian Dan Peter Sundland on the bass and the German drummer Michael Griener; however, the three musicians have an impressive ability to appropriate their instruments - in the true sense of the word - as instruments. They thus become media, mirror images of their personalities, reflecting melancholy and melancholy, but also and above all esprit, humor and an almost manic madness in the most positive sense. It was not for nothing that Peter Margasak from Jazzfest Berlin saw in the music of Lina Allemano's OHRENSCHMAUS a "flow that feels completely organic and masterfully reveals the ups and downs of life itself". The trio's concerts are shrouded in legend and regularly evoke storms of enthusiasm.
