Grooving rock jazz with poems by Arthur Rimbaud set to music for Jazzclub Live at the Telegraph on 4/27 at 8:30.
Poems by Arthur Rimbaud, Charles Simic and Gabriele Günther are the basis for the rocking jazz of this quintet. The head of the band is Hamburg-born saxophonist, clarinetist and composer Frank Gratkowski, who has been touring Europe and North America with numerous bands since the early 1990s.
The illustrious band: the Finnish-Berlin guitarist Kalle Kalima (Johnny La Marama, Klima Kalima), the Serbian-Berlin singer and actress Jelena Kuljic (Schaubühne and Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Burgtheater Vienna, Staatsschauspiel Dresden), the classical-and-jazz double bassist Oliver Potratz (Klima Kalima) and the one-roof-only-Berlin drummer Christina Marien (et al.a. Miss Platnum, performance group Ritsche, Zast & Marien).
