Trio.diction
With filigree miniatures that draw on Schumannian sound aesthetics, new and improvised music, the young Leipzig formation paints sound pictures of beguiling beauty. Sometimes dark and mysterious, then again lyrical, sometimes tender and fragile, the pieces condense into imaginative daydreams. The melancholic seems light here, but never banal. This is a decelerated film music without film, which gives us a welcome time-out. That it is nevertheless very whimsical, the band owes to the charming announcements of their mastermind Philip Frischkorn. So it's no wonder that Trio.Diktion immediately won the bronze medal among the finalists of the Munich Jazz Prize, which was awarded for the first time last year. Who cares that they are actually four musicians? Falsa demonstratio non nocet!
