Since October 2013 Philipp Rumsch has been studying jazz piano at HMT Leipzig with Richie Beirach, Michael Wollny and Ralf Schrabbe. From 2016 to 2017 he was a student at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Copenhagen and was taught by Valgeir Sigurðsson and Niels-Lyhne Løkkegard, Simon Toldam and August Rosenbaum, among others, in Music Performance with a focus on piano, composition and sound design. During his studies, Rumsch focused on composition, compositional composition, and electronic sound generation/shaping in addition to his major. The content of the concert will be Rumsch's solo project. In it, he focuses on sound and its propagation and development in space. Inherent in a large-scale, seemingly constant overall structure are subtle, gradual modulations and variations of the material. The EP "A ForwardFacing Review", released in 2017 on Denovali, was the result of his bachelor thesis in Copenhagen.
