The often fragmentary compositions of the Viennese collective release unbelievably beautiful and convention-free music, especially live, which often reminds one of photographic snapshots, which then suddenly start moving and take on a fascinating life of their own for a few moments. With the new album "Songs about Birds & Horses" (listen closely) in their luggage, the Philipp Harnisch Quartet will go on tour in October 2013. After now more than two years of collaboration, the quartet around alto saxophonist Philipp Harnisch amazes more and more with its virtuosity and sophistication in playing together, its aesthetics in musical expression and its unique joy of playing and experimenting. This homogeneous quartet serves the listener sometimes stormy, then again elegant and contemplative handmade feelings.
