Ottoman Empire

Bachelor graduation concert of the Leipzig drummer!
With a band assembled especially for this evening, drummer Hans Otto presents ideas, sketches and current compositions that were created during his studies in Weimar, Jerusalem and Leipzig. His Ottomann Empire sees itself as a discursive space in which the band collectively processes and completes Otto's musical impulses. His compositions provide information about the field of tension in which contemporary jazz moves today. On this expedition, Hans Otto explores utopian potential with his longtime companions Paul Lapp, Philipp Sebening, Fabix Halentine and Johann Fritsche and creates new territory from sketched ideas. The aftershow will feature "postcolonial exotic trash" by DJ Gwendolyn Millhill from Jena.
Hans Otto (dr, voc, comp), Fabix Halentine (g, voc), Philipp Sebening (as, ss), Johann Fritsche (p, synth) and Paul Lapp (b) - admission free, donations requested
