MusikZeit: GoGo Penguin "A Humdrum Star" SOLD OUT
TIP
When we read in the press release of almost every young jazz band today that they are influenced by Radiohead, then this testifies to the fact that young musicians today are integrating influences from indie, i.e. sophisticated alternative pop music, into their jazz compositions and improvisations. And when we "on the other hand" see indie bands like The Notwist or Radiohead, then we can also experience there, especially in live concert, impressively with how much artistry but also with how much ecstasy can be played across possible borders of pop, rock and jazz. Therefore, for the 27th MusikZeit we present artists who question the genre boundary between jazz and alternative pop music, overcome and explode it - or simply deny the existence of this very boundary: the English piano trio GoGo Penguin, the transatlantic guitar trio Trio Schmetterling, the Dresden experimental duo Ätna as well as Fhlaipw, the brand new project by Philipp Rumsch and Arpen.
The opening concert with GoGo Penguin is already sold out.
