Collaboration with WERK 2 – If you’re in the mood to keep dancing right after Sorvina’s concert, Sarah Farina’s DJ set is the perfect place to be. This DJ thinks in terms of neither genres nor boundaries. Her sets blend bass-driven frequencies with futuristic beats: bass music, breaks, jungle. Elements drawn from the hardcore continuum fuse with influences from early releases by artists such as Missy Elliott, Aphex Twin, and J Dilla to create something entirely unique, which Sarah Farina herself calls “RainbowBass.”

Not only can you hear and see just how precisely she mixes, but above all, how much fun she’s having while doing it. So it’s no wonder she’s already had the chance to play threeBoiler Room sets. Anyone who was already hitting the dance floor at Sorvina’s previous concert can pick right where they left off here.

But Sarah Farina’s work doesn’t end at the decks; it also makes waves far beyond them: As a DJ, producer, curator, and community organizer, she advocates for a diverse and inclusive club culture, brings attention to the Afro-diasporic roots of the underground scene, and creates spaces for exchange and historical awareness through projects likeEmergent BassandTransmission. In her DJ workshops—which she leads in places like Rwanda, Uganda, Alexandria, and Detroit—she focuses on sharing knowledge and, above all, conveying the joy of music, DJing, and club culture.

Sarah Farina has an extensive international network—from Underground Resistance to Teklife and Hyperdub to Buraka Som Sistema. And yet—or perhaps precisely because of that?—she never focuses on who supposedly belongs and who doesn’t.
