Jazzclub Live: Stax
TIP
Max Stadtfeld likes to play drums and with words. So the way to Stax (Madtfeld) was short. Stax works great in German and in English, just sounds different then. His music could be understood as a homage to rhythm itself, sometimes uniformly elegant, sometimes edgy and confusing. Schwing is in there, but so is 4-to-the-floor.
And then there's this band! A blond, a redhead, a blackhead and a street dog, "humanly and visually absolute top caliber," says Madtfeld. What's more, they radiate unmistakable originality and make Stax's pipe dreams fly through the air, Messrs. Raskari, Malpin and, well, Burkert. All to be experienced in Stax's final HMT concert.
Max Stadtfeld (dr) with Matthew Halpin (ts), Reza Askari (b), Bertram Burkert (g)
