Jazzclub Live: Pablo Held Trio "Recondita Armonia
TIP
Only one year after the celebrated album with "über-guitarist" John Scofield, the trio Held-Landfermann-Burgwinkel is already releasing the next album: "Recondita Armonia" it is called, which means "hidden harmony" and is the name of a romance from Puccini's opera "Tosca". And indeed: the piano trio uncovers some hidden connections of contemporary jazz and classical music. Besides Puccini, the band is dedicated to Stravinsky, Bartók and Rachmaninoff, but always finds sounds that are entirely their own.
