Jazzclub Live: Martin Auer Quintet "Our Kind of..."
TIP
Some claim that Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" is the most successful jazz album of all time. (Others say it's the only successful one ever, haha.) When the Leipziger Jazztage 2011 presented ten days of concerts "Between Mahler and Miles", the festival curators commissioned trumpeter Martin Auer to rework this very album. Together with Florian Trübsbach (as, ss), Jan Eschke (p), Andreas Kurz (kb) and Bastian Jütte (dr), he thrilled the audience at the Opera House back then. Four years later, the new arrangements were released on CD, with which the quintet now returns to Leipzig - in a direct and immediate club atmosphere.
