Jazzclub Live: Keno Harriehausen Quartet
Pianist Keno Harriehausen, born in 1988, has already lived in Amsterdam, Trondheim and Copenhagen - in all these places he experimented unreservedly with timbres and structures - and it was through them that he ultimately found the line-up of his quartet, with which he has now released his debut album on the Leipzig label Lakeland Records. Together with the Norwegian cellist Oda Mathilde, the Latvian Karlis Auzins on tenor saxophone and Andris Meinig on double bass, Harriehausen opens up fields of sound for his listeners whose horizons are lost in a dazzlingly bright expanse. Subtle force is paired with insistent clarity - this music grabs hold with every note, every breath, every movement. It does not stay out of it, does not remain neutral, does not content itself with the background. It promises to be an intense CD release concert, certainly very much worth listening to.
