Jazzclub Live: Charlemagne
Who actually thinks about all the sad Indians, tired superheroes and powerless cities of this world? One does not know. But you do know that the Leipzig band Charlemagne writes songs about them, gorgeous ones at that. Keyboard-guitar-drums-bass create a warm sound with trombone, clarinet and gentle electronics, through which the tender voice of Wencke Wollny floats. Sprechgesang meets the band-typical Haa-aah choruses. Those who like Die Höchste Eisenbahn and/or Sophie Hunger (and who doesn't?) will have great fun with this evening.
Wollny (voc) Christian Dähne (b), Simon Kutzner (keys, cl, voc), Antonia Hausmann (tb, voc), Yoann Thicé (g, voc)
