Jazzclub Live: Hornbeef feat. DJ Illvibe
TIP
For 10 years the Berlin-Swiss trombonist Jérôme Bugnon was chained to all SEEED stages of this world. And while the pop vultures were feasting, Hermes appeared in the form of a bovine animal and freed the horn. Because after such a long time, the longing for a freer format was infinitely great. With three longtime companions Kay Lübke (dr), Richard Koch (tp) and DJ Illvibe (tt), Bugnon founded the band Hornbeef - all colleagues who are as much at home in dark pop basements as on the sunny roof terraces of the jazz scene and who have never been heard together in this lineup. In 2016, the album "Night on Earth" was released, a name that Mr. Jarmusch already gave to his unforgettable marvel years ago. Admittedly, this is no coincidence - Hornbeef's music is reminiscent of a choppy soundtrack with quotes from New Orleans, hip-hop and free jazz. Gloomy and weird passages, angular and cranky, partying and with a casual-broody mood, and with a whole lot of freedom. What a pleasure.
(By the way, after years of abstinence Technics returns to the stages of the universe with the SL-1200 as the successor of the legendary SL 1210! Welcome Back!)
