Jazzclub Live: Woody
Interspersed with solid, woody fibers: That's woody! According to the literal sense - horror of all asparagus gourmets and blessing of all common nail beetles. An irrepressible urge to improvise, a love of detail in the search for touching sounds, the play of light and shadow in the instrumental wood: woody! The young ensemble around Leipzig drummer Hans Arnold enriches more than our vocabulary. With their debut album released in 2018 on "Ajazz," [Holzig] "provide a surprising, new splash of color on the current (German) scene," Jazzpodium already said. Song-oriented directness meets a polyphonic body of sound that can collectively create aural landscapes and cinematically moving images: a beguilingly imaginative journey through unexplored forests of sound.
