Jazzclub Live: Flashback #4 The Sound of Laurens Hammond
Jazz calendar tip
In the fourth edition of Jazzclub Leipzig's classics series, Simon Bodensiek (sax), Ali Krause (org), Michael Büschelmann (g) and Philipp Scholz (dr) pay homage to the sound of the legendary Hammond organ. Invented by Laurens Hammond, the two-manual keyboard instrument shaped jazz and rock alike in the 60s and 70s - Deep Purple, Medeski, Martin & Wood or Brian Auger would be unthinkable without this organ.
