Watch out! So far, the 18 time travels in our jazz classics series have only gone back 50 to 100 years, but this time up to 3,200,000 years, i.e. all the way back to the beginnings of jazz, or more precisely: to the Stone Age. Because Philipp Scholz, as we all know not only Jazz Nachwuchspreisspreis 2017 but also a Paleo nutritionist, invites you to Flashback #19. Practically without carbohydrates, he dedicates himself with two saxophonists and two other Philipps (more precisely: a Philipp and a Philip) to the music of Lennie Tristano and Warne Marsh, whose 30th anniversary of death falls on this December 18. The two US Americans are legends of cool jazz and were together in the studio for the first time in 1949, where they played a kind of free jazz avant la lettre on the record "Crosscurrent" (and a little later on "Intuition" and "Digression").
